A Superyacht Guide to Ibiza

A Superyacht Guide to Ibiza

Ibiza’s position as party capital of the world has never been in doubt but now the island off the coast of Spain is becoming one of the most popular superyacht destinations in Europe.

Famed for its voracious clubbing scene and impressive line-up of international DJs, the Balearic island of Ibiza has rarely been out of luxury travel magazines and guides.

But now, the island is becoming a much sought after destination for superyacht charters who are flocking to its crystal clear waters to soak up the atmosphere and sunshine in equal measures.

The swelling number of visitors arriving on superyachts is partly due to the completion of an €8 million facelift to the main marina in Ibiza Town. Marina Ibiza recently underwent a significant renovation programme with improved facilities and additional berths for superyachts.

Now the proud recipient of the International Marine Certification Institute’s Blue Star Certification, the marinais described as the “latest-generation marina that combines exclusivity with leisure and relaxation, elegance in design and functionality in its facilities and moorings”.

The luxury marina is home to a number of exclusive boutiques and restaurants such as a new Cavalli Restaurant and Lounge, opened by the Tuscan designer earlier this year.

Another restaurant to have recently opened in Ibiza and which affirms the island’s position as one of the leading destinations for the rich and famous is Sublimotion, believed to be the most expensive restaurant in the world.

Located in the Hard Rock Hotel at Playa d’en Bossa, the restaurant offers diners an ‘unparalleled gastro-sensory venture’ where a 20-course meal costs a staggering €1,200 a head.

But back to the water now, for Ibiza has a lot more to offer superyacht visitors than a few exceptional dining experiences and a memorable dance.

Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands and together with neighbouring Formentera forms the “Pitiusas” islands, meaning “the islands of pine trees” in Greek. The coastline is punctuated with intimate coves, picturesque ports and long beaches which means that whatever your agenda on a luxury yacht charter, there is something for everyone on this magical island.

Amongst our favourite stopovers is the Es Vedra Island, one of one of Ibiza’s national parks. Located just off the coast at Cala d’Hort, the limestone protrusion stands a magnificent 400 metres tall and is shrouded in mystery.

There are many stunning superyachts to choose from when planning your trip to Ibiza so here’s our top picks from the extensive Fraser Yachts charter fleet:

M/Y CAROM is a beautiful 30m San Lorenzo 100 and can comfortably sleep up to ten guests and reach an impressive speed of 20 knots.

M/Y TIGER LILY OF LONDON is a 27m Pershing, which can sleep seven guests and boasts a sleek interior and an exterior perfect for outdoor relaxation.

M/Y DORABELLA C, a 24m Phantom 80, which sleeps eight guests in four staterooms and offers a cruising speed of 11 knots.
